The PKI broadcast said the ban covered affiliates included the Pemuda Rakjat (the Communist Party's youth movement), Gerwani (the women's wing) and the big Communist-dominated Sobsi Trade Union organisation. All have been the prime targets of the anti-Communist campaign that followed the crushing of the Army-supported attempted coup d'etat in Jakarta.
