Lester) said this week.rpHEY had also communicated with Gerwani, the Indonesian women's organisation affiliated to the Women's International Democratic Federation, saying that they felt that the leaders of Australia were not speaking in the name of a great many Australians, who were sympathetic to Indonesian independence, and that they would try to let other women know the justice of Indonesia's claim."We have also written to Opposition Leader Calwell, saying that we don't agree with the stand he is taking and that this stand is not in the interests of the Australian people," Mrs. Lester said. "Built up as a SEATO base under camouflage of Dutch occupation, West New Guinea could be a threat to peace," she added.
