Comité Irian Soerabaia (Komite Irian Surabaya)

Op initiatief van de Eadan Perdjoangan Irian Oost Java, een organisatie, die streeft naar de inlijving van West Irian bij het grondgebied van Indonesië, werd Zondagmorgen te Soerabaia een vergadering gehouden met vertegenwoordigers van verschillende politieke partijen en verenigingen. O.a. werd besloten tot de oprichting van een comité, dat de naam zal dragen van Panitya Pembebasan Irian Barat — comité voor het bevrijden van West Irian. De bestuursfuncties in dit comité zijn als volgt verdeeld: voorzitter de Badan Perdjoangan Irian Barat, vicevoorzitter de Sobsi, eerste secretaris de Partai Komunis Indonesia, tweede secretaris de P.N.1., penningmeester de Indo Nationale Partij, voorlichting de Partai Murba. Ér worden verder verschillende secties gevormd. De sectie organisatie wordt gevormd door vertegenwoordigers van het Front Pemuda Indone- de Pemuda Kesatuan Indonesia en de Gerwis. Het comité stelt zich ten doel de pogingen „van bepaalde elementen om West Irian af te scheiden van Indonesië" te bestrijden. Men zal de regering om steun verzoeken en er tevens te Djakarta op aandringen de R.T.C.-overeenkomst op te zeggen en de Unie op te heffen. Men heeft het plan, bijeenkomsten te organiseren.
