Both the Provincial Council and the municipal council and the regency council are holding a session in Bandung. At the session of the provincial council, which began yesterday, security problems were discussed, among other things. The agenda of the session of the regency council (which began this morning) mentions, among other things: problems concerning the decentralisation congress to be held, general elections, supervision of the prices of school books, the padi purchase, etc. At the session of the municipal council, which likewise began this morning, a proposal concerning the canalisation of the Tjikapoendoeng will be discussed, among other things.
An appeal is made to the Indonesian government to punish Schmidt with a sentence "at least as heavy as the sentence the worst criminal can receive" (that is, the death penalty). The Bandung branch of the Gerwani stands fully behind the Ali-Arif cabinet (mainly because of the present cabinet's security policy) and urgently appeals to the government to dissolve the provincial council of West Java (which is "undemocratic") quickly.
