Installatie overgangsraad (Pelantikan dewan peralihan)

In de raadszaal van de gemeente Bandung vond gistermorgen de plechtige installatie plaats van de overgangsraad door de gouverneur van West-Java R. Sanusi Hardjadinata. Deze buitengewone zitting werd geopend door burgemeester R.H. Enoch als voorzitter van het bestuurscollege. Na de opening legden de nieuwe gemeenteraadsleden de eed af in handen van resident Ipik Gandamana van Priangan, waarna gouverneur R. Sanusi een boodschap uitsprak, waarin hij de overgangsraad op zijn moeilijke taak en plicht wees. Hij besloot de installatierede met de woorden: „hiermede installeer ik U tot overgangsraad der gemeente Bandung". Tot slot sprak het oudste lid van de overgangsraad, de 57-jarige R. Anggabrata, waarna de zitting besloten werd met een afscheidswoord van een der leden van de voormalige gemeenteraad. Vandaag zal de nieuwe raad zijn eerste zitting houden ter verkiezing van een voorzitter en een vice-voorzitter. Zoals bekend zal de overgangsraad een levensduur hebben van een jaar, waarvan, gerekend vanaf de datum van het regeringsbesluit, reeds twee maanden zijn verlopen. De bovenste foto is genomen tijdens de eedsaflegging van een deel der leden van de overgangsraad van de gemeente Bandung. Links is nog resident R. === [Page 1] === In the council chamber of the municipality of Bandung the solemn installation of the transitional council took place yesterday morning by the governor of West Java, R. Sanusi Hardjadinata. This extraordinary session was opened by Mayor R.H. Enoeh as chairman of the executive board. After the opening the new municipal council members took the oath in the hands of Resident Ipik Gandamana of Priangan, after which Governor R. Sanusi delivered a message in which he pointed the transitional council to its difficult task and duty. He concluded the installation speech with the words: "Hereby I install you as the transitional council of the municipality of Bandung." Finally the oldest member of the transitional council, the 57-year-old R. Anggabrata, spoke, after which the session was closed with a farewell word from one of the members of the former municipal council. Today the new council will hold its first session to elect a chairman and a vice-chairman. As is known, the transitional council will have a life of one year, of which, counted from the date of the government decree, two months have already elapsed.
