Door de Jajasan Kas Pembangunan Kota Salatiga zijn in dit jaar gebouwd 20 nieuwe volkswoningen, namelijk 6 huizen in kampong Djetis en 14 woningen in kampong Benojo. De huizen in kampong Djetis zijn middels loting onder de spaarders toegewezen aan 3 militairen en 3 civiele personen. Elk huis kost, met inbegrip van de aanleg van waterleiding en lichtinstallatie, Rp. 223.500,—. De bewoner heeft bij het begin een bedrag van Rp. 2000,— te storten, terwijl de rest in payementen van Rp. 123,— 's maands kan worden afbetaald in 20 jaar. De toewijzing van de woningen in het Benojo-complex zal op een nog nader vast te stellen datum plaatshebben. In het kader van de campagne voor de algemene [verkiezingen] zullen op de volgende dagen in het gebouw van het Gris-Theater te Salatiga bijeenkomsten worden gehouden door de Gerwani op 23 september 's middags, de Masjumi op 23 september 's avonds, de Gerakan Pembela Pantjasila op 25 september 's morgens, de P.I.R. op 26 september 's morgens en de P.N.I. op 26 september 's middags. Bekende voormannen van deze politieke partijen zullen het woord voeren.
