De kwestie Wikana (The Wikana question)

De woordvoerder van het Territoriaal Commando Midden-Java heeft officieel ontkend dat de territoriaal-commandant instructie ontvangen zou hebben van de minister van defensie tot intrekking van het besluit tot externering van de groep Wikana c.s., nl. de drie personen die bij de Augustus-razzia's gevangen genomen werden en kortgeleden weer vrijgelaten onder de beperkende voorwaarde dat zij zich niet meer in het gebied van Midden-Java mogen vestigen. Dit naar aanleiding van berichten dat de minister van Defensie tijdens een onderhoud met een delegatie van de Panitya Keluarga Tahanan Razzia Augustus, bestaande uit de heer K. Wirdojo en mevr. Moedigdo, verklaard zou hebben dat de minister nieuwe instructies inzake opheffing van het externeringsbesluit verstrekt zou hebben. De drie bedoelde personen, die geexterneerd zouden worden, bevinden zich nog steeds in Midden-Java.

=== [Page 1] === The Wikana question The spokesman of the Territorial Command of Central Java has officially denied that the territorial commander received instructions from the minister of defence to withdraw the decision to externalise [banish] the group Wikana et al., namely the three persons who were taken prisoner in the August raids and recently released again under the restrictive condition that they may no longer settle in the area of Central Java. This follows reports that the minister of defence, during a conversation with a delegation of the Panitya Keluarga Tahanan Razzia Agustus [Committee of Families of Detainees of the August Raid], consisting of Mr. K. Wirdojo and Mrs. Moedigdo, was said to have declared that the minister had issued new instructions concerning the lifting of the externalisation decision. The three persons in question, who were to be externalised, are still in Central Java.
