Comité 17 Augustus (17 August committee)

Dinsdag is in een bijeenkomst tussen de burgemeester en vertegenwoordigers van overheidsinstanties en organisaties een comité voor de viering van 17 Augustus gevormd. De bijeenkomst heeft besloten de nationale dag te vieren voor de nationale eenheid en voor de opheffing van de Unie en de terugkeer van W-Irian. Het comité bestaat uit drie afdelingen. Algemeen: het dagelijks bestuur en vertegenwoordigers van organisaties. Dagelijks bestuur, onder voorzitterschap van de burgemeester met een presidium bestaande uit de heren Sardjono, Suratno Sastroamidjojo, Sutedjo Dir-djosubroto (allen van de gemeente) en vertegenwoordigers van orga - nisaties, de politie, het foasiscommando en de radio. Penningmeester is het heofd financiën van de gemeente, het secretariaat (olv Gerwani, Sobsi en FPI) zetelt in de Balai Kota, Merdeka Selatan 9.
