W-Irian spoedig provincie (West Irian soon a province)

In verband met de berichten, dat de Tweede Kamer in Nederland besloten heeft om West-Irian tot gebiedsdeel te verklaren van het koninkrijk der Nederlanden, heeft de Panitia Aksi Pembebasan Irian Barat (Aktie-komitee voor de bevrijding van West-Irian) de nationale raad van het Volkskongres het voorstel gedaan om bij de regering aan te dringen op de spoedige vorming van een provinciaal bestuur voor West-Irian. Het betreffende schrijven van dit komitee is getekend door mevr. Sudarman H. S., mevr. Umi Sardjono en mevr. Sutedjo. In dit schrijven werd voorts tot uiting gebracht dat dit aktie-komitee zich kon verenigen met de besluiten die laatstelijk door het Volkskongres zijn genomen met betrekking tot de vorming van het aanstaande kabinet en het program ter uitvoering van de opheffing van de RTC. De houding van Nederland, die een schending betekent van de soevereiniteit van Indonesië, moet onmiddellijk beantwoord worden met tegenmaatregelen van Indonesische zijde. Vervolgens heeft de Panitia Aksi Pembebasan Irian Barat een bedrag van Rp 1.306,80 als bijdrage overhandigd aan het werkkomitee van het Volkskongres, aldus een bekendmaking van de nationale raad van het Volkskongres voor heel Indonesië.

=== [Page 1] === W-Irian soon a province In connection with the reports that the Second Chamber in the Netherlands has decided to declare West Irian a territory of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Panitia Aksi Pembebasan Irian Barat (Action Committee for the Liberation of West Irian) has made the proposal to the national council of the Volkskongres [People's Congress] to urge the government to promptly form a provincial administration for West Irian. The letter in question from this committee is signed by Mrs. Sudarman H.S., Mrs. Umi Sardjono and Mrs. Sutedjo. In this letter it was further expressed that this action committee could agree with the decisions recently taken by the Volkskongres regarding the formation of the coming cabinet and the programme for implementing the abolition of the RTC. The attitude of the Netherlands, which means a violation of Indonesia's sovereignty, must be answered immediately with countermeasures on the Indonesian side. The Panitya Aksi Pembebasan Irian Barat subsequently handed a sum of Rp 1,306.80 as a contribution to the working committee of the Volkskongres, according to an announcement of the national council of the Volkskongres for the whole of Indonesia.
