Van de Perbupri vernam Keng Po dat deze vakbond, die ongeveer even groot is als de Sarbupri, niet mee zal staken. Ook de Sarekat Buruh Islam Indonesia, die tienduizenden leden heeft, is tegen de Sarbupri-staking. Het bestuur van de Perbupri heeft een verklaring uitgegeven waarin het zegt niets te weten van de inhoud en de geest van de Sarbupri-eisen, noch van het P4P-besluit op grond waarvan de Sarbupri staakt. In verband daarmee roept het bestuur alle leden op de situatie kalm te beschouwen en zich niet te laten beïnvloeden door ongewenste stokerijen en provocaties. De Perbupri tracht het lot van de arbeiders te verbeteren door de werkgevers ontwerp-arbeidsovereenkomsten voor te leggen. Daartoe is nodig rust en energieke arbeid aan de interne organisatie. De SBII stelt zich volgens haar vice-voorzitter mr. Jusuf Wibisono op het standpunt dat de arbeidspolitiek parallel dient te lopen met de financieel-economische toestand in binnen- en buitenland. Waar op het ogenblik de rubberprijzen dalen, kan de SBII niet instemmen met de Sarbupri-eisen voor loonsverhoging, omdat dan de productiekosten zullen stijgen ten nadele van de rubberuitvoer. De regering moet volgens mr. Jusuf de eisen van de Sarbupri af durven wijzen, waarnaast zij ernstig dient te streven naar verbetering van het lot der arbeiders. Hoe, moet de regering zelf bepalen. Gezien de actie van de Sarbupri noemt mr. Jusuf de beloften van de Sobsi en de PKI om de regering te steunen, bedriegerij. Het tweede congres van de R.T.I., de Rukun Tani Indonesia, dat werd bijgewoond door vertegenwoordigers van Sobsi, S.B.G., Sarbuksi, Pemuda Rakjat en Gerwis, heeft zich solidair verklaard met de stakingsactie van de Sarbupri. Het heeft aan alle afdelingen opdracht gegeven de stakers steun te verlenen.

The Sarekat Buruh Islam Indonesia, which also has tens of thousands of members, is likewise against the Sarbupri strike. The Perbupri tries to improve the lot of the workers by submitting draft labour agreements to the employers. To that end calm and energetic work on the internal organisation is necessary. The SBII, according to its vice-chairman Mr Jusuf Wibisono [Yusuf Wibisono], takes the standpoint that labour policy must run parallel with the financial-economic situation at home and abroad. Since rubber prices are falling at the moment, the SBII cannot agree with the Sarbupri demands for wage increases, because production costs would then rise to the detriment of rubber exports. According to Mr Jusuf the government must dare to reject the Sarbupri demands, alongside which it must strive seriously for improvement of the lot of the workers. How, the government must determine itself. In view of the Sarbupri's action Mr Jusuf calls the promises of the Sobsi and the PKI to support the government deception. The second congress of the B.T.I., the Barisan Tani Indonesia, which was attended by representatives of Sobsi, S.B.G., Sarbuksi, Pemuda Rakjat [Pemuda Rakyat] and Gerwis [Gerwis], declared itself solidary with the strike action of the Sarbupri. It has given instructions to all branches to give support to the strikers.
