PKI-candidaten (PKI candidates)

Het centraal-comité van de P.K.I. maakt bekend, dat drie vooraanstaande partijloze volksleiders, prof. ir. Purbodiningrat, dr. Tjokronegoro en Hendra Gunawan zich bereid hebben verklaard opgenomen te worden in de lijst van de P.K.I. en partijlozen voor de komende verkiezingen. Prof. ir. Purbodiningrat is van Jogjase adel en bekleedt op het ogenblik de functie van hoogleraar aan de staatsuniversiteit „Gadjah Mada" in Jogjakarta. Behalve lid van de wereldvredesbeweging in Indonesië is prof. Purbodiningrat ook actief op het gebied van de arbeidersbeweging. Dr. Tjokronegoro is een particulier dokter in Klaten en een van de vooraanstaande leiders van de B.T.I. In 1947 was hij vice-minister van economische zaken en een lid van de partijraad van de links georiënteerde Partai Sosialis. Hendra Gunawan, of gewoonlijk kortweg Hendra genoemd, heeft bekendheid verworven als schilder en beeldhouwer. Eerder had de P.K.I. reeds bekendgemaakt dat ir. Taher [Unreadable], mevr. Salawati Daud en Ngantung zich bereid hebben verklaard op de lijst van P.K.I. en de partijlozen te worden geplaatst.

Purbodiningrat [Purbodiningrat], and Tjokronegoro [Cokronegoro] and Hendra Gunawan, have declared themselves willing to be included in the list of the P.K.I. and non-party persons for the coming elections. Prof. Ir. Purbodiningrat is of Jogjakarta nobility and currently holds the post of professor at the state university "Gadjah Mada" in Jogjakarta. Besides being a member of the world peace movement in Indonesia, Prof. Purbodiningrat is also active in the field of the labour movement. Dr. Tjokronegoro is a private doctor in Klaten and one of the leading figures of the B.T.I. In 1947 he was vice-minister of economic affairs and a member of the party council of the left-oriented Partai Sosialis. Hendra Gunawan, or usually simply called Hendra, has gained fame as a painter and sculptor. Earlier the P.K.I. had already announced that Ir. Taher Thajeb [Translator's note: name uncertain; possibly Tahar Thajeb], Mrs Salawati Daud and Ngantung have declared themselves willing to be placed on the list of the P.K.I. and non-party persons.
