Kolonel op Zuid-Borneo 'schorst' PKI

De militaire commandant van de provincie Zuid-Borneo, kolonel Hasan Basry, heeft een besluit uitgevaardigd, waarbij de activiteiten van de Communistische Partij van Indonesië en een reeks andere organisaties in de provincie „tijdelijk geschorst" worden. Het besluit slaat ook op de grote vakcentrale SOBSI, de jeugdorganisatie Pemuda Rakjat, het boerenfront BTI, de vrouwenorganisatie Gerwani en een culturele organisatie, aldus bericht het Indonesische persbureau Antara. Het decreet werd door de kolonel uitgevaardigd, na overleg met de vertegenwoordiger voor Borneo van de chef van de generale staf. De kolonel verkondigt in zijn besluit, dat de ideologie, doeleinden en beginselen van de PKI in strijd zijn met het regeringsprogram. In Djakarta is een delegatie van het Chinese vakverbond onder leiding van Tsjang Hsioe-tsjoe aangekomen, die zal deelnemen aan het Derde Nationale Congres van de SOBSI in Solo.
