=== [Page 1] === [Letter to the editor – beginning garbled] In De Waarheid of Monday [..] February there was a fairly extensive report of the eleventh congress of the NVB. In this article a number of important points that came up at the congress were brought forward. Rightly so; a number of matters produced quite a lot of discussion. The reporting around the statement on the Indonesian political prisoners and our sister organisation Gerwani and the reporting on solidarity with the Philips women in Heer is also a good thing. It is then at the very least regrettable to mention that in the whole article not a word was said about the actions around the Okto and Philips in [Unreadable] Groningen. For the Groningen women the choice to go to Amsterdam was difficult, precisely in that weekend in which important decisions took place and all people, men and women, were needed to carry the actions further. Antje Kuiper from Winschoten, in her contribution to the discussion at the congress, dealt with the role of women in the actions and especially of the Women's Committee for Employment, in which many NVB women are active. Betje Wiekens from Oude Pekela gave, at the end of the discussion on Saturday, a report of the just-concluded meeting of the Joint Action Committees in Oude Pekela. On Sunday a collection was held whose proceeds, almost f [Unreadable], were divided over the actions of the Philips women and the actions at the Okto. A strange thing that the part played by the women in the struggle in Groningen is not mentioned in the article, certainly if one considers how enthusiastically the congress responded to the proposal to send a message of solidarity to the meeting of the Joint Action Committees. Fortunately Truus Divendal in her closing speech paid much attention to this and made clear once again that struggle for employment by men and women is one of the main points for the NVB. [signed] I. S., P. v.d. V., members of the congress delegation of NVB branch Groningen.
