President Soekarno benoemt zichzelf tot formateur: streven naar vorming van extraparlementair kabinet

In het Negara-paleis heeft president Soekarno gisteravond tijdens de ontmoeting met prominenten van verschillende stromingen uit de maatschappij de mededeling gedaan dat hij besloten heeft om de Indonesische staatsburger dr. ir. Soekarno aan te wijzen als kabinetsformateur. Zijn opdracht is om een extraparlementair noodzakenkabinet te vormen dat krachtig en accuraat kan optreden en de nationale raad zal moeten vormen volgens het presidentiële concept. In zijn hoedanigheid van hoogste opperbevelhebber ten tijde van de SOB zal president Soekarno kundige personen aanwijzen om in het kabinet zitting te hebben. Met deze bekendmaking zijn de speculatieve interpretaties over de mededeling van de president dat hij maatregelen zal treffen, opgelost. Over de personen die gisteravond ten paleize Negara aanwezig waren, kan nog gemeld worden dat van de uitgenodigden er 69 acte de présence gaven. In tegenstelling met een voorgaand bericht van PIA bleek dat ook hoge autoriteiten van de staatsapparaten voor deze bijeenkomst waren uitgenodigd. Zo waren mede aanwezig de chefs-staf der drie strijdkrachten, te weten generaal-majoor A. H. Nasution (leger), vice-admiraal Subyakto (marine) en vice-luchtmaarschalk Suryadarma (luchtmacht), terwijl ook het hoofd van de staatspolitie, hoofdcommissaris Soekanto, zich onder de uitgenodigden bevond, evenzo de procureur-generaal, Suprapto. In feite werden door de president 75 personen uitgenodigd, waarvan zes personen verhinderd waren aan de uitnodiging gevolg te geven. Deze zes personen waren: dokter Sukiman Wirjosandjojo, mevr. Pudjobuntoro, dokter Sjamsuddin, mevr. S. K. Trimurti, S. Mangunsarkoro en drs. Frans Ceda. Dr. Hatta (behoorde niet tot de genodigden). President Soekarno onthulde niet hoeveel tijd hij aan dr. ir. Soekarno geeft om het noodkabinet te vormen.

In fact 75 persons were invited by the president, of whom six were prevented from following the invitation. President Soekarno did not reveal how much time he gives Dr. Ir. Soekarno to form the emergency cabinet.
