De Panitya tekent tenslotte protest aan tegen het verbod om vaandels met opschriften van bepaalde inhoud mee te voeren in de optocht die op 17 Augustus zal worden gehouden.

=== [Page 1] === A number of organisations, including the Sobsi, the Rukun Tani Indonesia, Front Nasional Pemuda, F.R.R.I. and the women's organisation Gerwis, have, in protest against the fact that the government has included no representative of parties or organisations in the committee for the celebration of the anniversary of the proclamation of freedom, set up the "Panitya Peringatan Proklamasi Rakjat 1945" [People's Committee for the Commemoration of the Proclamation 1945]. In an explanation of this establishment it is announced that "it is now clear to the people that the national bourgeoisie, bribed by the imperialists, has tried to wipe out the original content and meaning of the 17th of August". "On 17 August a unitary state à la R.T.C. will be proclaimed," this explanation continues, "therefore 17 August 1950 is a day of mourning." Finally the Panitya lodges a protest against the ban on carrying banners with inscriptions of a certain content in the procession that will be held on 17 August.
