Gerwis protesteert bij Egyptisch consulaat (Gerwis protests at the Egyptian consulate)

In verband met het besluit van de gouverneur van Cairo, Mohamad Alkawish Bey, dat vrouwen niet mogen deelnemen aan de verkiezingen in Egypte, welk besluit hij in een brief aan de leidster van de „Dochters van de Nijl", Doria Shafik, heeft medegedeeld, heeft de Gerakan Wanita Indonesia Sedar (Gerwis) een brief overhandigd aan het Egyptische consulaat in Indonesië, waarin de organisatie protesteert tegen het bovengenoemde besluit. De Gerwis dringt er bij de Egyptische regering op aan, om het besluit, waarbij vrouwen worden uitgesloten van de verkiezingen, in te trekken.
