Text

=== [Page 1] === The Pengadilan Negeri [district court] in Surabaja again dealt with the theft of the "Koalas", the little boat that in June 1950 was taken from Udjung by a troop of armed men, who under threat forced the crew of this government-owned vessel to sail to the South Moluccas. Some of the perpetrators were already tried by the Pengadilan Negeri. Later G.S. and J.S., who were in Ambon, could still be arrested, and they were brought before the court on Saturday morning. As their guilt was considered proven, both defendants heard themselves sentenced to two years, less time spent in pre-trial detention. - According to P.T.-Aneta, the conference of the Gerwis, East Java branch, resolved among other things to send a representation to the coming Asian peace conference in Peking. This representation consists of the ladies Tam, Sulami and Warmi.
