C.T.N. question: No negotiations
The reports on the departure of Mrs. Salawati Daud to the interior of South Celebes to make contact with Kahar Muzakar, the leader of the C.T.N. units that left their districts last week, give the impression that the government is making efforts to resume the negotiations, according to an official statement of the spokesman of the ministry of defence. "We deeply regret the opinion of various people's leaders who still wish to conduct negotiations with Kahar Muzakar, of whom it has clearly turned out that he acted for his own benefit against the general interest and the honour of the state. I wish to declare here emphatically that no other way can be found than the strict compliance with the government instructions, for the welfare of the Indonesian people," said the spokesman.
