Actie tegen Nederlandse Hoge Commissaris (Action against the Netherlands High Commissioner)

Het Indonesische comité van samenwerkende partijen heeft, blijkens eenheden uitgegeven communiqué in verband met de door de Nederlandse Hoge Commissaris Vrijdag j.l. uitgegeven verklaring, beslotén bij de regering aan te dringen graaf van Bylandt tot „nersona non grata” te verklaren. Het comité omvat diverse partijen en organisaties, waaronder de Partai Kommunis Indonesia, de Partai Nasional Indonesia, de Partai Buruh. de Partai Serikat Islam Indonesia, de Nahdatul Ulama, de Perbepsi, de Gerwani, de Partai Indonesia Raya, de Parindra en de Sobsi. Bij het vertrek van de Indonesische minister van buitenlandse zaken naar Nederland, op 22 Juni. heeft het comité een verklaring afgelegd, die graaf van Bylandt in zijn bekende verklaring „diep bedroevend” noemde. In het heden uitgegeven communiqué van het comité van samenwer: kende organisaties vraagt het comité voorts de Indonesische delegatie uit Den Haag terug te roepen, indien blijkt, dat hetgeen de Nederlandse Hoge Commissaris heeft verklaard het standpunt is van de Nederlandse regering. Voorts vraagt het comité unilaterale opheffing van de Unie en spoedige vorming vaneen bestuur voor West-Irian. „De verklaring van de Hoge Commissaris, gegeven op een ogenbiik. dat de Indonesische regering poogt op vreedzame wijze namelijk door besprekingen, een oplossing te vinden voor het geschil tussen Nederland en Indonesië kan als een uitdaging worden beschouwd en betekent inmenging in Indonesische binnenlandse aangelegenheden”, aldus het communiqué. De grootste geiser van Europa, de springbron op het schiereiland Namedy inde Rijn, nabij Koblenz, is uitgeput. Men gebruikte de bron voor het fabriceren van koolzuur. Tot en met 29 Juni heeft het hospitaalkerkschip De Hoop onder commando van kapitein W. F. Rog de vloot voor de ‘haringteelt-1954 begeleid die op 25 Mei was uitgevaren. De geestelijke verzorging berustte bij ds. W. J. Kolkert uit Vlaardingen, die in totaal 65 schepen bezocht. De medische dienst bij dr. C. W. Ouderkerk en student-verpleger F. de Boer.

On the departure of the Indonesian minister of foreign affairs for the Netherlands on 22 June, the committee made a statement which Count van Bylandt in his well-known statement called "deeply saddening". In the communiqué issued today by the committee of cooperating organisations the committee further asks that the Indonesian delegation be recalled from The Hague, if it turns out that what the Netherlands High Commissioner has declared is the standpoint of the Netherlands government. The committee further asks for unilateral abolition of the Union and prompt formation of an administration for West Irian. "The statement of the High Commissioner, given at a moment when the Indonesian government is trying to find a solution in a peaceful way, namely through talks, for the dispute between the Netherlands and Indonesia, can be regarded as a challenge and means interference in Indonesian internal affairs," according to the communiqué.
