DJAKARTA. The Indonesian minister of foreign affairs Dr Soebandrio declared yesterday evening in Djakarta that "within a few days" he will determine the time and place of the operation that is to lead to "the liberation" of Netherlands New Guinea. By that time the government's plans with regard to New Guinea will be ready, said the minister. Soebandrio warned the Indonesian people that it must now feel directly threatened by Dutch policy. He appealed to the people to be prepared to make sacrifices for the sake of the security and integrity of the country. Soebandrio again accused the Netherlands of doing everything possible to separate "West Irian" from Indonesia, after the self-determination proposal had failed in the United Nations.
Forced. The Indonesian minister, who spoke at the fourth national congress of Gerwani, the communist-minded Indonesian women's movement, said that if the Dutch were to continue with their plan to grant independence to what they call the Papuan state, "we have no other choice than to oppose it militarily, in the heart of West Irian." Soebandrio said that in that case it would be the Dutch who would have forced Indonesia to this policy.
