The National Committee of the All-Indonesia Central Organisation of Trade Unions [SOBSI] said in its telegram to Sukarno that the President's concept is the correct road to solving Indonesia's present difficulties. The concept's mention of establishing a mutual-assistance cabinet encompassing all factions is the wish of Indonesian workers and people of all strata, because such a cabinet can guarantee national peace. On the 22nd the National Committee of SOBSI also issued a statement calling on workers everywhere to take part in discussion of the President's concept and to participate actively in all activities expressing support for it. On the 22nd the Indonesian Women's Movement Association [Gerwani, 印度尼西亚妇女运动协会] also issued a statement expressing full support for the President's concept. The statement said that, because of the existence of imperialist plots against Indonesia and the rebellious acts of Lubis, Simbolon, Hussein and others, the whole Indonesian people place their hopes on the President's concept. The organ of the Nahdlatul Ulama [Islamic Teachers' Union], "Duta Masyarakat" ["Social Envoy"], said in an editorial on the 22nd that Sukarno's intention in putting forward the concept seems indeed very good, but the manner of implementation is still hard to accept in present Indonesian society. Asjin [阿辛], chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama's parliamentary group, made a statement on the 22nd expressing opposition to Sukarno's concept.
