In the courtyard shaded by green trees and scented by orchids, the peace fighters of China and Indonesia cordially discussed important questions on the defence of world peace. Guo Moruo said that imperialism and colonialism are the root cause of the threat to peace in Asia and the world, so to defend peace imperialism and colonialism must be thoroughly eliminated from the earth, and the unity of the peace-loving peoples of Asia, Africa and the world must be strengthened to oppose together the enemies who undermine peace – imperialism and colonialism. On behalf of the Chinese people he praised the peace-loving Indonesian people. He said Indonesia is a peace-loving country, and the Indonesian people have for a long time waged heroic struggle in the forefront of the struggle against imperialism and colonialism. The development and glorification of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Ten Principles of the Bandung Conference are inseparable from the efforts of the Indonesian people. Mrs. Hidajat, general chairwoman of the Indonesian Peace Committee, also spoke. She said this friendly and pleasant conversation helps promote friendly relations between Indonesia and China, two countries opposing imperialism and colonialism. She said China, like Indonesia, wants peace in order to build the motherland. Although their social systems differ, China and Indonesia stand together in the cause of defending peace. She also said Indonesia is proud to have a comrade-in-arms like China in the cause of peace. She expressed the hope that the peoples of the two countries will increasingly strengthen unity in the cause of opposing imperialism and colonialism and that the friendly relations of the two countries will grow ever closer. Indonesian peace activists attending the meeting were Setiadi [塞第亚狄], Widjojo [韦多约], Mrs. Arudji [阿鲁季夫人] and Mattalogawa [马塔洛加瓦], chairmen of the Indonesian Peace Committee, member Brigadier General Mustopo [穆斯托波], Mrs. Setiadi, chairwoman of the Jakarta Peace Committee, and others. Also present were Djawoto [查禾多] and Sulotto [苏洛托], chairmen of the Indonesia-China Friendship Association, Mrs. Umi Sardjono [乌米·萨佐诺夫人, Umi Sardjono], chairwoman of the Indonesian Women's Movement Association [Gerwani] and member of parliament, Hadoyo [哈多约], general secretary of the Indonesian Students' Movement Alliance, and others. At the close of the meeting the Indonesian friends sang together "Halo, Bandung" and "Indonesia Raya" [Indonesian independence song] and shouted: "Long live Indonesian-Chinese friendship!" Xinhua, Jakarta, 16th – Guo Moruo, head of the delegation of the National People's Congress of China, deputy head Li Zhuchen and all members of the delegation, accompanied by Chinese ambassador to Indonesia Yao Zhongming, this morning paid a call on Abdulgani, vice-chairman of the Supreme Advisory Council of Indonesia. Present at the call were members of the Supreme Advisory Council representing Indonesia's political parties, organisations, professional bodies and religious circles, including Sidik [苏维约], chairman of the Indonesian National Party, Aidit, chairman of the Indonesian Communist Party, Siauw Giok Tjhan [萧玉灿], chairman of the Consultative Body for Indonesian Citizenship [Baperki], Raja Rumagesan [拉贾·鲁马格桑], representative of the people of West Irian, and Commodore Suhadi [苏哈迪], among others.
