President Sukarno also presented gifts to Vice-Premier Chen Yi and his wife. The gifts were presented before the farewell banquet given by Chairman Liu Shaoqi. Xinhua, Jakarta, 19th: Representatives of the Indonesian people of all circles this evening presented gifts here to Chairman Liu Shaoqi and his wife Wang Guangmei. Chairman Liu and his wife shook hands one by one with the people's representatives as they received the gifts at the State Palace. Among these rich and varied gifts was a specimen of a bird of paradise from West Irian. The representative of the Indonesian party who presented this gift stressed the great significance of the victorious struggle to liberate West Irian. The representative of the People's Youth [Pemuda Rakyat], presenting a bow and arrows, said: 'We give you weapons for the struggle against the imperialists.' Chairman Liu and his wife thanked the representatives and expressed the hope that China-Indonesia friendship would develop further. The other people's organisations and political parties that presented gifts were: the National Front, the Indonesia-China Friendship Association, the Indonesian Communist Party [PKI], the Indonesian Consultative Body for Citizenship [Baperki], the All-Indonesian Central Organisation of Trade Unions [SOBSI], the peasant-poor organisation, the Indonesian Women's Movement Association [Gerwani], the Indonesian Democratic Women's Association, the Indonesian Students' Movement League and other organisations.
