=== [Page 1] === Five organisations including the All-China Women's Federation send telegrams supporting Indonesia's withdrawal from the United Nations; the Indonesian people, by developing the spirit of self-reliance, will surely carry the anti-imperialist struggle forward Xinhua News Agency, 12th – The All-China Women's Federation of the People's Republic of China today sent telegrams to the Indonesian Women's Congress [Kowani], the Indonesian Women's Movement Association [Gerwani], the Indonesian Marhaenist Women's Movement [Gerakan Wanita Marhaenis], the Women's League of the Islamic Teachers' Federation [Muslimat NU] and the Women's Association of the Republic of Indonesia [Wanita Republik Indonesia?], firmly supporting the just action of President Sukarno's decision that Indonesia withdraw from the United Nations. The telegram said that President Sukarno's decision expressed the heroic spirit and revolutionary will of the Indonesian people, who are unafraid of brute force, who hit back at the threats and bullying of US and British imperialism and who resolutely safeguard national independence and national dignity. All Chinese women pay the highest respect to their Indonesian brothers and sisters. "We fully support the statement of our government of 10 January; we firmly stand with you and fully support your just, correct and revolutionary action." The telegram said that by resolutely announcing their withdrawal from the United Nations, the Indonesian people had set a brilliant example in the struggle against US imperialism and had won the praise and support of just people throughout the world. This brave action of the Indonesian people had exposed before the peoples of the world the "paper tiger" nature of the United Nations, which greatly helped to dispel superstition about the United Nations, greatly boosted the morale of revolutionary peoples and deflated the arrogance of imperialism. The telegram said: "We firmly believe that the Indonesian people and women, with their anti-imperialist, anti-colonialist revolutionary heroism, by developing the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, will surely overcome all difficulties and carry the cause of the anti-imperialist struggle forward. All Chinese women are determined to unite closely with the 104 million Indonesian brothers and sisters, to fight together and advance side by side against imperialism and old and new colonialism, in support of national independence and in defence of world peace." Xinhua News Agency, 12th – In a telegram sent today to the Indonesian People's Cultural Institute [Lekra], the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles said that Chinese literary and art workers warmly supported our government's statement of 10 January and firmly supported Indonesia's just action in withdrawing from the United Nations. The telegram said that in recent years the United Nations, manipulated by US imperialism, had done many bad things and had increasingly become a tool of aggression for US imperialism and a rotten institution serving old and new colonialism. Indonesia's withdrawal from the United Nations, this brave revolutionary initiative, had broken the superstition about the United Nations and given great encouragement to the struggle of the world's peoples against imperialism and old and new colonialism and for winning and defending national independence. The telegram said that the Chinese people and Chinese literary and art workers would always stand with the fraternal Indonesian people and work together and go hand in hand against US-led imperialism and old and new colonialism, in support of national independence and in defence of world peace. Xinhua News Agency, 12th – The Association for Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China today sent a telegram to the Indonesian Scientists' Association [name uncertain], firmly supporting Indonesia's just action in withdrawing from the United Nations. The telegram said that President Sukarno's solemn announcement on 7 January of Indonesia's withdrawal from the United Nations fully embodied the Indonesian people's fighting will to hit back at the threats and bullying of US and British imperialism and to safeguard national independence and national dignity. Chinese scientific workers firmly supported this resolute revolutionary action. The telegram said that Chinese scientific workers, together with the Chinese people, firmly supported our government's statement of 10 January. "In the common struggle against imperialism and old and new colonialism, we shall always stand with the Indonesian people and scientists." Xinhua News Agency, 12th – The All-China Journalists' Association today sent a telegram to the Indonesian Journalists' Association [PWI] saying that all Chinese journalists warmly supported the just statement of Indonesia's withdrawal from the United Nations announced by President Sukarno on 7 January. "We consider this a bold revolutionary action by the Indonesian people against imperialism and old and new colonialism, to safeguard national dignity." The telegram said that the United Nations had increasingly become a tool of aggression for US imperialism and old and new colonialists, and that US and British imperialism had now pushed "Malaysia" into the Security Council, which was a serious provocation against the Indonesian people and a hostile act against the peoples of Southeast Asia and of Asia and Africa. Indonesia's withdrawal from the United Nations was entirely just. The heroic spirit of the Indonesian people, fearless of brute force and daring to struggle, inspired the struggles of the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America against imperialism and old and new colonialism and helped the peoples of all countries to see the true face of the United Nations and dispel superstition about it. The telegram said that Chinese journalists firmly supported the Indonesian people's struggle against the "Malaysia" manufactured by US and British imperialism. "We shall always stand with our fraternal Indonesian journalists and fight to the end against imperialism and old and new colonialism, in support of the national independence struggles of the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America, and in defence of world peace." Xinhua News Agency, 12th – The China Political Science and Law Association today said in a telegram sent to the Indonesian Scientists' Association [sic, as in source; probably a legal body] that Indonesia's withdrawal from the United Nations was a matter of course and that Chinese legal workers firmly supported this just revolutionary action. The telegram said that many facts proved more and more that the United Nations had increasingly become a tool of US imperialism's policy of aggression and war. Indonesia's resolute decision to withdraw from the United Nations had broken people's superstition about the United Nations and made a major contribution to the struggle of the world's peoples against imperialism and colonialism. The telegram warmly supported our government's statement of 10 January and said that Chinese legal workers, together with the Chinese people, would resolutely march side by side with Indonesian legal workers and the Indonesian people and fight to the end against US-led imperialism and old and new colonialism, in support of national liberation and in defence of world peace.
