[Unreadable]

[Excerpt of the report "People must live happily!", beginning mid-sentence:]
...it for them.
The sun in Indonesia sets astonishingly fast. By about 6 o'clock it hurries towards the horizon and as soon as it passes behind its line, it seems as if someone has switched it off, like the bright electric light in a hall. By this time many dozens of people representing the largest public and popular organisations had gathered near N. S. Khrushchev's residence. There were workers, peasants, students. They brought with them simple gifts: pictures, carved caskets, embroidered tablecloths, wooden figurines – the fruits of their labour, a particle of their heart. In baskets lay bright, exotic fruits grown in the hot gardens of Indonesia, and handfuls of snow-white rice, which might seem like drops of sun sown in the warm ponds of the rice plantations.
Among those present were leading figures of the Central All-Indonesian Federation of Trade Unions (SOBSI), the peasants' union (Barisan Tani Indonesia), the people's youth organisation (Pemuda Rakjat), the Indonesian women's movement (Gerwani), the Indonesian Peace Committee, the Indonesian-Soviet Society for Friendship and Cultural Relations, and the People's Culture Society [Lekra].

The press group attached to the Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers reproduces below the account of this cordial meeting.
Speeches by envoys of the Indonesian people
The member of the State Committee for the reception of heads of foreign states, Suharto Rebo, a former fighter of the famous student army that covered its banners with glory in the armed struggle for the liberation of Indonesia from the yoke of the colonisers in 1945–1947, introduced the guests to N. S. Khrushchev.
The first to speak was the General Secretary of the Central All-Indonesian Federation of Trade Unions, Comrade Njono. Warmly greeting N. S. Khrushchev on behalf of the working people of Indonesia, he said:
"Your visit, our dear friend, is of truly enormous importance for all of us, and not only for us but for all the peoples of the world. Your journey cements the friendship between Indonesia and the Soviet Union. It is of great importance for strengthening peace throughout the world.
The agreement on economic aid that you and President Sukarno signed yesterday will strengthen the position of Indonesia"
[Interleaved lines from the same report, continuing:]
"Of course, 12 days is a very short time," the speaker continued. "And with pain in our hearts we say to you, dear Nikita Sergeyevich, very soon, tomorrow, goodbye. But we know that you have very many important and urgent matters and that you have no opportunity to stay with us longer and to get acquainted with all regions of Indonesia. However, we are sure that you are leaving us with a clear impression that the people of Indonesia is full of determination to struggle unswervingly against colonialism and imperialism.
The Joint Soviet-Indonesian Statement, the agreement on economic aid of the Soviet Union to Indonesia, and the agreement on Soviet-Indonesian cultural relations, signed by you and President Sukarno, are a living symbol of the eternal and unbreakable friendship between our fraternal peoples."
