=== [PDF page 1] === SUKARNO NAMES NATIONAL FRONT COMMITTEE Jakarta, Indonesian Home Service, in Indonesian, Mar. 27, 1960, L240 GMT--B ("Presidential Decision No. 34 of 1960 concerning the Preparatory Committee for the National Front") (Text) We, the President of the Indonesian Republic, considering: l1--That it is necessary to appoint as soon as possible a preparatory. committee to. make preparations for the organization of a National Front; e--That the persons whose names are mentioned below are persons from political and functional groups and individuals who are trusted by the people; 3--That they all fully subscribe to the purpose, ain, and program of the projected National Front and therefore are eligible for membership in the aforementioned preparatory corimittee; Also considering: ‘That it is necessary to determine the task and dutues of the preparatory committee and to provide a deadline for the completion of the preparations for the organization of the National Front; Considering: Art. 11 of presidential regulation Now 13 1959--STATE GAZETTE No. 151 1959; decide to determine: L--As of the date of the enactment of this decision to form a preparatory committee for making preparations for the organization of a National. Front and to appoint as members of the preparatory committee: From the political group: Arudji Kartawinata, Dr. Ali Sastroamidjojo, Zainul Arifin, D.N. Aidit, Dr. A.M. Tambunan, I.J. Kasimo, Maruto Nitimihardjo, Noto Danuasmoro, Siradjuddin Abbass From the Functional Group: Mohamad Munir, Bambang Murtifoso, Nazir, Sukatno, (Djarilah?), Mrs. Supeni, Mrs. Umi Sardjono, (J.K. Sukowati; Lieutenant Colonel Achmadi; Lieutenant Colonel Djuhartono; e--To give the preparatory committee the task tO plan and prepare a program, the organizational setup and other matters pertaining to the national front; 3--To give the preparatory committee a deadline within which to complete its task and to submit a report to us. This deadline shall be at the latest the end of May 1960. 4--To appoint Arudji Kartawinata and Lieutenant Colonel Achmadi, respective: as chairman and secretary of the preparatory committee; 5--To appoint the secretariat of the West Irian Liberation National Front as the secretariat of the aforementioned preparatory committee. Enacted in Jakarta on Mar. 23, 1960. The President of the Indonesian Republic, signed--Sukarno. Herewith, we have announced the names of the members, chairman and secretary of the preparatory committee for the National Front. I would like to ask the members, chairman and secretary of the National Front Preparatory Committee to stand up. We regret that there has been no time to invite the committee members who live outside the city to appear here. I ask you, the members, chairren, and secretary of the National Front Preparatory Committee to stand up with the purpose to install you officially as the National Front Preparatory Committee. I ask you to work hard, following the instructions I have given, and I ask you to work as hard as possible so that by the end of May this year when God willing, I will be back from by foreign tour, xe will be able to have the National Front start immediately with its task as the mobilizer of all the energy.which we have in our society and people to continue our struggle for the creation of a just and prosperous society.
