The messages strongly denounced the aggressive intrigues of the U.S.
imperialists and held that the groundless slander of the Indian and Canadian delegates to the International Supervisory and Control Commission in Vietnam against the DRV should be canceled immediately. The message continued: The Korean people will always stand on the side of the Vietnamese people in the struggle against the U.S. imperialists and will, in the future too as in the past, extend active support and encouragement to the fraternal Vietnamese people. Stressing that the Geneva agreements on Indochina should be strictly observed, the message strongly demanded that the U.S. imperialists discontinue immediately their aggressive schemes in South Vietnam and quit there at once, taking with them their lethal weapons.
Soviet Resolution
Hanoi VNA in English to Europe and Asia 1619 GMT 24 July 1962--B (Text) Hanoi, 24 July--"The Soviet people as well as the whole of peaceloving mankind are anxiously following the present development of the South Vietnam situation." This was stated in a resolution adopted by the meeting held 21 July by representatives of the Moscow people. The occasion was the eighth anniversary of the signing of the Geneva agreements on Vietnam, 20 July.
The resolution says: The U.S. policy constitutes a brazen sabotage of the 1954 Geneva agreements on Indochina, violating the political and vital right of the Vietnamese people to self-determination, and threatening world peace. It expresses warm support for the Vietnamese patriots' anti-U.S.-Diem struggle and the conviction that this struggle for freedom, national independence, reunification, and building a unified independent, and prosperous Vietnam will certainly end in success. Present at the meeting were stessov, secretary of the Soviet Asian-African Solidarity Committee, and the cultural attache of the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow, Nguyen Huu Ngoc.

The Gerwani says: "Once more we protest the U.S. Government's action of carrying out armed aggression in South Vietnam and helping the authorities there perpetrate mass massacre and persecution of the people, of women and innocent children. These are obviously branches of the Geneva agreements. We support your struggle for the realization of the principles of democracy, for respect and the implementation of the 1954 Geneva agreements, and for guaranteeing peace in southeast Asia.
"We urge that the U.S. Government halt its interference and armed aggression in South Vietnam and withdraw all its troops from there, that the military bases be abolished, the detainees in concentration camps be released, and the massacre and persecution be ended."

The UAW writes:
our heartfelt support for your struggle against the aggressive policy of the United States and its intervention in South Vietnam.
This action is against the wishes of many of the Australian people, despite the support given by the Australian Government to the U.S.
policy.. (VNA ellipses). We assure you, dear sisters, that we will do all in our power to alter the policy of support by the Australian Government for the U.S. aggressive policy and to insist that the cochairmen of the 1954 Geneva conference take steps to implement the Geneva agreements and to end U.S. intervention."

Hanoi VNA in English to Europe and Asia 1431 GMT 20 July 1962--B (Text) Hanoi, 20 July--All Vietnam, North and South, yearns for reunification, and the whole world is behind that struggle for this sacred cause Such is the spirit of the extensive coverage given by all Hanoi papers today in editorials, commentaries, news and photos on the struggle for Vietnam's reunification, marking the eighth a miversary today of the conclusion of the general agreements on Vietnam.
Below a photo showing a meeting of North Vietnamese demanding that the U.S. imperialists quit South Vietnam, NHAN DAN carries an editorial entitled "U.S. Aggressors, Go Home!" It points out that the main obstacle to the implementation of the Geneva agreements is the aggression of U.S. imperialism, and the way to settle peacefully the South Vietnam problem is to end this aggression. Under the title, "Delegates of All Continents Support Us," the organ of the Vietnam Workers Party reports on the meetings and demonstrations held yesterday by the people in the industrial towns of Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, and Viet Tri.
