INDONESIAN WOMEN CONDEMN JAVA RIOTS a Peking NCNA in English to Asia and Europe 1819 our 4 June 1963--W
(Text) Peking, 4 June--The National Women’s Federation of the People's Republic of China today received a letter from the Central Council of the Indonesian Women's Movement, strongly denouncing the recent counterrevolutionary racist activities in Indonesia as detrimental to both Chinese nationals and Indonesian society.
The letter said that these incidents were masterminded by racist counterrevolutionaries with the aim of impeding the implementation
of the "economic manifesto" and creating undesirable camditions for the Indonesian Republie now struggling against U.S.-led new and old colonialism and imperialism. "As President Sukarno said, the
racist actions were directed by elements of the former Partai Masjumi, Partai Sosialis Indonesia, Universal Struggle Movement, and Revolutionary Government of the Indonesian Republic. In collaboration with foreign subversive agents, they direct their spearhead not only against the Chinese but also Nasakom and Bung Karno himself. They say that the situation in Indonesia is displeasing to them and that
Bung Karno is the archeriminal responsible for the situation.
The Indonesian people, including the women, resolutely condemn all counterrevolutionary racist actions as hindering the Ind onesian
people's struggle. These actions undermine the friendship between
the Indonesian people and the great Chinese people, which was strengthened by the recent visit to Indonesia of Chairman Liu Shao-chi. With their unity and determination, the Indonesian people, who are at all
times ready to counteract any incidents, have thwarted the criminal actions of the counterrevolutionary racists.
"Indonesian women belonging to the Indonesian Women’s Movement express regret for the actions which are detrimental to Chinese nationals and to Indonesian society. It is our belief that, thanks to the increasing consolidation of national unity with Nasakom as its core, thanks to the continued augmentation of the friendship among the new emerging countries and that between Indonesia and great China in particular,
any counterrevolutionary racist action will fail.’
