KIM OK-SUN REPORTS ON MOSCOW WIDF PARLEY
Pyongyang KCNA in English to Asia 1657 GMI 23 July 1963--B
(Text) Pyongyang, 23 July--A return report meeting of the Korean women's delegation which had taken part in the World Women's Congress in Moscow at the end cf last month was held yesterday evening in Pyongyang.
The meeting was attended by working women of factories and enterprises and a large number of women from government organs, social organizations, and from educational, scientific, public health, culture, art and press organs in the city. ‘The leader of the Korean women's delegation,
Kim Ok-sun, first vice chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union, made the report at the meeting.

Noting that the recent World Women's Congréss has left a great blot, far from contributing to the development of the international women's movement as expected by the hundreds of millions of women including the women of our country, she said: The Korean women together with honestminded women the world over are taking this to hearte
Referring to the fact that the organizers and some delegates of the congress are still trying to cover up their mistakes made against the international woments movement even after the congress, the reporter stressed: Nothing can justify their unwarranted stande
She noted that the congress ran grossly counter to the principles
of the work of the Women's International Democratic Federation and that despicable plots to force through wrong views and lines were
made during the preparations of the congress and the working out of the Gocuments to be discussed,
Saying that the congress proceeded in a noisy atmosphere of calumny and
slander, disorder and coersion, the speaker remarked: The question of
mobilizing all progressive women of the world, first of all, for the
struggle against imperialism and colonialism should have been put up as
an important task before the recent World Women's Congress..<Hewever,
_ these fundamental questions of the world woments movement were left out
of account in the whole course of the recent World Women's Congress
The organizers of the meeting and delegates of some countries made almost
no mention of organizing and mustering the masses of progressive women
throughout the world for the anti-imperialist, anticolonial struggle, and instead beautified and embellished the U.S. imperialists, the ringleader
of imperialism, and spread illusions about them. They described the
situation as if U.S. imperialism also "desires peace” and also has some "good will," and went to all length in praising Kennedy, chieftain of
the U.S. imperialists, as the "great man" selflessly endeavoring
for peace. This is incompatible with the will of the people and women the world over who aspire for real peace..
At this very day, due to the U.S.-led imperialists, an endless chain
of sanguinary tragedies are taking place in colonial and dependent countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and numerous mothers
and children of. these countries are going in rags, suffering from hunger, and are dying away miserably. All these facts bespeak that only by resolutely fighting against U.S. imperialism, most heinous enemy of the world women and the rest of the people who love peace, can
peace, national independence, and social progress be won and can the emancipation of women, their rights and the happiness of children be gained and defended. The women and the rest of the people of our country are keenly aware of this truth through actual life experience, the reporter stressed.

But the organizers of’thd recent World Women's Congress and some delegates, the speaker pointed out, virtually turned away from the anti-imperialist, national liberation struggle of the people of colonial and dependent countries, and failed to extend active support and encouragement to this struggle. | Women delegates of many countries of the world regarded the anti~imperialist, national liberdtion- struggle as an important duty of the international
Women's movement and strongly urged that practical measures be taken to actively support this struggle.
Strangely enough, however, the organizers of the congress and some delegates, who so enthusiastically advocated peace and the emancipation, freedom,
and rights of women, virtually overlooked these pressing and important questions, insisting that the struggle for national independence brings
only "death," “Poverty,” and "ruins"
Dwelling on the activities of the women's delegation of our country which strongly called at the congress for the further strengthening of the anti-~ imperialist, anticolonialist struggle, she stressed that these just demands and proposals of our country enlisted warm support and response from dele-~ gates of many countries, including those in Asia, Africa, and Iatin America, Seeing this, the organizers of the congress, defying shame, went so far as to commit such despicable acts as restricting our delegates from making Speeches and hindering their activities.
Noting that these antidemocratic acts were not directed only to the dele- @tion of our country, the reporter said that the congress was used as a Stage of an anti-Chinese racket under the planned manipulation of its.
organizers. After provocatively raising the Sino-Indian boundary question which was not a question to be discussed at the recent congress, some members of the Executive Committee not only allowed the Indian delegate to hurl slanders and abuses at the Chinese People's Republic, but also went so far as to openly shield it. Moreover, such an intolerable state of affairs took place as attacking the Chinese women's delegation which demanded the floor in connection with the slanderous statements and hampering it from making speeches.
Stressing that the organizers of the congress and the delegates of some countries nevertheless could not check the voice of justice of the delesates of many countries in the world, the reporter noted that our delegation and the women's delegations of China, the DRV, Albania, Japan, Indonesia, Laos, Zanzibar, Venezuela, the Republic of South Africa, Southwest Africa, and many other Asian, African, and latin American countries vehemently protested against and condemned these unwarranted steps and upheld the banner of the anti-imperialist and anticolonial struggle.

The speaker analyzed and criticized the action program of the WIDF
and the documents of the: congress, adopted: “under pressure of the
organizers of the congress. The documents ° on ‘the congress, ‘the reporter said, were worked out in such a way as-to ignore the historical
experiences in the struggle for peace and the stark reality today, and -
to beg the imperialists for Peace while closing one's eyes to the crimes of the imperialists.
When the reporter said that therefore our women's delegation opposed the adoption of these unjust documents at the congress, proceeding from the aspiretion for a sound development of the world women's movement, the attendants of the meeting extended undivided support and approval with warm applause to the principled and just stand adopted by our delegation at the congress.
Stressing that all progressive women of the world must firmly unite end fight against the imperialists for the victory of mankind's cause of peace, national independence, and social progress, for the freedom and emancipation of women, Kim Ok-sun declared: Particularly, the Asian, African, and Latin American women must resolutely fight for the achievement oi national independence and its consolidation and for their own _ and their children's happiness, upholding the banner of anti-imperialism and anticolonialism. The women of our country together with all the people, will more valorously fight for driving out the U.S. imperialist aggressors from South Korea, accomplishing the self-dependent unification of the fatherland, and for relieving the South Korean people and women. from the predicament of today.
The attendants of the meeting unanimously hailed the activities of our delegation at the World Women's Congress and expressed deep regret at the obstacles laid by the organizers of the congress and some delegates in the way to a sound development of the world women's movement.
They evinced determination to continue to strengthen the international ties and solidarity with the women of various countries and to make
an active contribution to the common cause of all world women through a resolute struggle against imperialism.
