Dear Editor,
I am always very pleased when I find a copy of “Women of the Whole World” on my desk.
As editor of our “Wanita”
(Woman), the contents of your review furnish me with a full knowledge of the _ struggle women are waging in all countries for their rights and material independence.
Through your review we come to know of the activities of those women who are helping to free their countries from colonial domination, such as the women of Africa, Algeria, etc.
Through “Wanita”, we pass this knowledge on to our 30,000 readers throughout Indonesia.
I always feel happy when I can do this for Indonesian women who are now working to improve their status as women in a free state.
Although our country is now celebrating the thirteenth anni-

versary of its freedom, we Indonesian women will continue to struggle for our rights until we attain the full equality enjoyed by women of many other countries.
Girls, young women and all wives in Indonesia are still waiting for the Marriage Law to come into force in our country.
This law for which we are continuing to fight will mean greater security and protection for
Because of our own experiences we will always support the activities of women in other countries to gain their freedom.
I would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the women from all over the world, who are gathered together in Berlin working for the peace of the world and the welfare of mankind.
To perpetuate our friendship — and as a representative of our readers, — I am sending you herewith a picture of myself with my husband, and also some

Many thanks for the magazine.
I always look forward to it impatiently and am happy when it arrives.
I lost my right leg in the second world war; in the first my three brothers were killed, and so I know what suffering war brings, We must do all we can to maintain peace. For many years now I have been taking part in the struggle to maintain peace and for women’s right to Participate in social and political life on an equal footing with men. Your magazine is a great help to me, strengthening my convictions and making me realise that war must be prevented and also that it can be prevented if the women through-

out the world, together with their husbands and with all men and women of good will, are determined to maintain peace. Then prosperity for all mankind will become a fact We women in Germany combine the struggle for peace with the struggle for the speedy reunification of our country in peace and friendship with women all over the world.
With sincerest greetings

. Thank you for your fine and stimulating journal. A happy new year, and may it bring peace in Algeria and see human beings putting as much enthusiasm into learning to love and understand one another as into going to the moon!

I have had the pleasure of reading an article in “Women of the Whole World”, the contents of which I liked very much.
Would you kindly let me know the price of the magazine in dollars, as I have not been able to find out the price here in the Republic of Colombia.

I have been a keen and regular reader of your magazine, which I used to get from my
sister-in-law Mrs Awatif Tamim. But since we have now moved to a new residence which is situated far from her and there is no way of contacting her frequently,,1 earnestly hope that you will be able to supply me with your monthly magazine, which has become a significant part of my culture.
I would like to receive all your different publications and to participate fully in the work of your Bureau by writing short essays on issues that concern women of the world in general and the African women in particular.

I am enclosing a cheque for ten dollars, to let you know I am proud of what you are trying to do. Though you may not believe in God, I ask him to guide and direct your efforts to make a better world for everybody.
Thank God someone is trying to awake!
I am glad to read about things in your magazine that I would not know otherwise. For years I have been writing, trying to arouse women to their possibilities and potentialities. Many are ignorant and complacent in our beloved country.
I wish I might read something by Sibilla, of whom I had never heard. How could I get her “WOMAN”?(1) I had not read the life of Joliot-Curie in such a full form before, nor of England’s peace caravan. I will report this information along with that of your work, to the Congress which is to take place in Montevideo, Uruguay in

The Public School System in the South is in great danger because the Dixiecrats who represent and speak for the minority and are not abiding by the will of the majority, refuse to carry out the Supreme Court decision for full integration of all schools in the South. The women in the north have a great responsibility in helping to carry out the Court’s decision and there is still very much to be done.

German Democratic Republic Dear Friends,
We are living at a time when it is urgently necessary for the women in every country to have a say in political decisions. It is not only women’s job to bear children, but to protect them with everything in their power.
This is the instinctive expression of mother love. Today every mother is anxious about the life and future of her children,
West Germany has once again become a dangerous explosive centre. It was possible for the old aggressive German militarism to regain power and fresh preparations for war are being made.
I could give many examples to substantiate my statement, but let one serve for all. The bloodstained former General Heusinger, today again in charge of the NATO troops in the German Federal Republic, declared
