Di Cirebon, tentera-tentera Pemerintah telah dibantu oleh kereta kebal dan kereta-kereta perisai manakala pemberontak-pemberontak terdiri dari segelintir tentera yang dibantu oleh pemuda-pemuda Komunis yang bersenjata dan wanita PKI. Surat khabar Tentera hari ini menyiarkan berita-berita lanjut mengenai pembunuhan tujuh orang perwira tinggi pada 1 Oktober oleh "Gerakan 30 September". Menurut surat khabar itu, rumah General Ahmad Yani, panglima tentera darat, telah ditembak pada pukul 4 pagi. Pengawal-pengawal Panglima itu telah membalas tembakan-tembakan itu dan bila General Yani keluar, dia pun ditembak. General Yani kemudian diangkut oleh pemberontak-pemberontak itu dalam sebuah jeep dan diseksa dalam perjalanan ke Lubang Buaya dekat pangkalan udara Halim di mana mayatnya ditanam dalam sebuah perigi. Nasution, berpura-pura menjadi General Nasution dengan memakai baju "jacket" General itu. Dia ditembak dengan mesin gun. Anak perempuan General Nasution telah cedera tetapi General Nasution dapat melepaskan diri dari pagar belakang rumahnya. Sementara itu, kota Jakarta tenang hari ini. Meriam-meriam anti kapal terbang dan kereta-kereta kebal telah dipindahkan dari taman-taman dan tanah lapang ke kawasan pelabuhan Tanjung Priok. Kata dua itu diberikan berikutan dengan laporan-laporan bahwa "Gerakan 30 September" itu telah membahagi-bahagikan senjata kepada pengikut-pengikut PKI di Jakarta. === [Page 1] === Communists slaughter family of Jogja army commander JAKARTA, Wednesday. – The slaughter of people by Communist rebels in Central Java has been reported by the Government Radio of Yogyakarta. Radio Yogyakarta last night reported that the families of the city's army commander, Colonel Katamso [OCR: Karamso], and his aides had been slaughtered while Communist troops and rebel troops still controlled the city. === [Page 2] === Fighting Reports reaching here today say fierce fighting has taken place at Klaten, near Yogyakarta, and at Cirebon, about 50 miles east of Jakarta. At Cirebon, Government troops were assisted by tanks and armoured cars, while the rebels consisted of a handful of soldiers helped by armed Communist youths and members of Gerwani ("the PKI women's front"). The Army newspaper today published further reports on the killing of seven high-ranking officers on 1 October by the rebels of the "30 September Movement". According to the newspaper, the house of General Ahmad Yani, commander of the army, was fired on at 4 a.m. The commander's guards returned the fire and when General Yani came out he was shot. General Yani was then carried off by the rebels in a jeep and tortured on the way to Lubang Buaya near Halim air base, where his body was buried in a well. The newspaper said Major General Suprapto (Second Deputy Army Commander) was asleep when the rebel troops entered his unguarded house. === [Page 3] === Dragged out They dragged him out. He was shot dead at Lubang Buaya. Major General Harjono, Third Deputy Army Commander, was wounded when rebel troops fired on his house from several sides. He was dragged into a jeep and stabbed in the neck. Major General Parman, First Assistant to the Army Commander, was dragged into a truck where he was tortured to death. Brigadier General Pandjaitan, Fourth Assistant to the Army Commander, resisted fiercely when the troops fired on his house. He and two of his sons were wounded. The troops managed to capture the General and tortured him on the way to Lubang Buaya, where he was killed. Brigadier General Sutojo Siswomihardjo, Director of the Military Law Academy, was dragged into a jeep and shot dead at Lubang Buaya. === [Page 4] === Machine gun Lieutenant Pierre Tendean, aide to Defence Minister General A.H. Nasution, pretended to be General Nasution by wearing the General's jacket. He was shot with a machine gun. General Nasution's daughter was wounded but General Nasution escaped over the back fence of his house. Meanwhile, the city of Jakarta was calm today. Anti-aircraft guns and tanks have been moved from parks and open spaces to the harbour area of Tanjung Priok. A three-day ultimatum to the people to surrender their firearms to the Jakarta war authority ended today. It is not known how many weapons have been surrendered. The ultimatum was given following reports that the "30 September Movement" had distributed weapons to PKI followers in Jakarta. It is understood that 200 armed Communists have been captured.
