Barry Goldwater says he may not go to Vietnam after all, mainly because he can't go in a military capacity. Goldwater said he and his wife Peggy had planned to leave shortly after Christmas on a Far East tour and the former Republican presidential candidate said he planned to visit Vietnam as a private citizen. "But I've since developed qualms about going as plain John Q. Citizen," Goldwater said. Goldwater said the defence department denied a request he be allowed to go to Vietnam as an air force reserve officer.
