Anwarkadir is also secretary of the PKI Committee for Southeast Indonesia, which includes a section of the South Celebes, the Moluccas, and the eastern section of the Lesser Sundas. (Djakarta, Harian Rakjat, 9 Sep 55)
Djokosudjono
Djokosudjono was born at Blora, Central Java, in 1912.
began his political activity as a member of the PNI in 1929, and in 1935 worked with Musso, Pamudji, and Adhmad Sumadi to organize the [then] illegal PKI. In 1938, he was imprisoned by the Dutch colonial government at Boven Digul; during World War II, he took refuge in Austrailia, where together with other comrades he organized the Foreign Section of the PKI.
When the revolution broke out in Indonesia following the Japanese surrender, he took an active part in the Indonesian campaign in Australia to frustrate the efforts being made there by the Dutch government to recruit troops to suppress the revolution in Indonesia.
As a result of these activities, he and his comrades were held in a Dutch concentration camp in Australia for 6 months but later released and returned to Indonesia through the intercession of the Australian labor movement.
He returned to Indonesia in 1946 and worked to build up the party within the labor unions. From 1931 to 1935, he served as chairman of the PBKI (Indonesian Railway Workers Labor Union) and from 1932 to 1934 as secretary of the Persatuan Sarikat Sekerdja Seluruh Indonesia (All-Indonesia Association of Labor Unions), the forerunner of Sobsi (All-Indonesia Central Labor Union) during the Dutch regime. In 1933, he officiated at the first Indonesian labor congress in Surabaja.
From 1947 to 1953, he held the post of chairman of the SBKA (Railway Workers Union) executive council; recently, he was made a member of the Sobsi central board, representing Sobsi in Parliament.

B. Health
1. Shortening of Medical Course Proposed In early April 1956, on the occasion of the celebration of the ninth anniversary of the Medical Faculty of the University of Indonesia in Djakarta. Dr H. Sinaga, Minister of Health, stated that he was very much in favor of shortening the curriculum of the Medical Faculty from 6 years to 5 years. He maintained that in view of the great need for more doctors in Indonesia, there being only 1,000 doctors for Indonesia's population of over 80 million, this plan would help the situation. He said that it was essential now to have enough doctors to help the sick rather than to aim constantly at graduating doctors who would measure up to international standards for the profession.
Professor Sutarman read a speech of the dean of the Medical Faculty Professor Sudjono Djuned Pusponoegoro, who was ill, in which the latter stated that the faculty instructors should approve the proposal for shortening the duration of the medical course. (Djakarta, Pedoman, 7 Apr 56)
