On Sunday a demonstration was held by thousands of students and secondary school pupils against the prosecution of these students. In this demonstration, which proceeded in an orderly fashion, according to the Harian Umum the women's organisation Gerwis, the Pemuda Rakjat and the SOBSI also took part. The demonstrators carried many banners in which they urged the discharge of prosecution of the students concerned, the early passing of a press law, the abolition of the Dutch language where it is still used, and restriction of the Dutch daily newspapers. The procession finally went to the governor's office in the lower town, where the resolutions adopted at a mass meeting held beforehand relating to this matter were handed to the governor.
