Dr Ali Akbar in parliament responds to PKI cooperation call
De Nieuwsgier parliamentary note (17 Apr 1956): Masjumi's Ali Akbar said PKI member Loekman's call for cooperation interested his faction, but the optimism evaporated because of attacks by Mrs. Salawati of the PKI faction. Salawati (Daud) appears only as the cause of friction.
Catatan parlemen De Nieuwsgier (17 April 1956): Ali Akbar (Masjumi) menyatakan seruan kerja sama dari Loekman (PKI) menarik fraksinya, tetapi optimisme sirna akibat serangan Ny. Salawati dari fraksi PKI. Salawati (Daud) hanya disebut sebagai sumber ketegangan.
“Optimism caused by this call for cooperation vanished like snow in the sun because of the attacks launched by Mrs. Salawati of the PKI faction.”
