Het Nieuwsblad voor Sumatra (17 Jun 1953, hlm. 2): Gerwis mengeluarkan pernyataan tentang pembentukan kabinet baru, menyerukan kabinet yang mencabut kebijakan merugikan perempuan dan rakyat. Programnya: perlindungan perempuan pekerja (terutama hamil), pemberantasan pengangguran, anggaran pendidikan dan kebudayaan lebih besar, pengendalian harga, alat pertanian bagi tani, pencabutan kebijakan daerah yang melanggar hak demokratis, pemberantasan gerombolan teror, dan pembagian tanah adil.
“Gerwis urges a cabinet to include protection of the working woman, especially the pregnant, price control, education budget, and just land distribution (p. 2).”
