Aidit], left Jakarta by air for Moscow on the evening of the 19th. The deputy head of the delegation is Sutisman [Sudisman], member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Secretariat of the PKI Central Committee. The members of the delegation are: Sujiyono [Sugiyono], member of the PKI Central Committee's Agitation and Propaganda Department; Fachrul Barakba [Fachrul Baraqbah], alternate member of the PKI Central Committee and Secretary of the PKI East Kalimantan Committee; Rakut Sembilin [Rakut Sembiring], member of the Standing Committee of the PKI North Sumatra Committee; Zain Nasution [Zaini Nasution], Deputy Head of the International Department of the PKI Central Committee; and Aidit's secretary, Busun Tunjang [Busjun Tondjang?]. [Translator's note: some transliterated names are uncertain.] Those who went to the airport to give the delegation a warm send-off included: Lukman [M.H. Lukman], First Deputy Chairman of the PKI Central Committee; Sakirman, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee; Yusuf Ajitorop [Njoto? – Yusuf Adjitorop], alternate member of the Politburo, and Njono [Njono]; other leaders of the PKI Central Committee; and the heads of the All-Indonesian Central Organisation of Trade Unions [SOBSI], the Indonesian Peasants' Front [BTI], the People's Youth [Pemuda Rakyat], the Indonesian Women's Movement Association [Gerwani] and other mass organisations. Hundreds of PKI members and sympathisers rushed to the airport to cheer and applaud Aidit and the members of the delegation. Also seeing them off at the airport were: Yao Zhongming, the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, and diplomatic officials of the Chinese Embassy; Kuznetsov, representative of the Soviet Embassy; Cardoso, chargé d'affaires of the Cuban Embassy; and Shen Yongpeng, Consul-General of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Jakarta. On the evening of the 18th, Ambassador Yao Zhongming held a banquet to bid farewell to the PKI friendship delegation headed by Aidit. Aidit, Lukman, Sutisman and other officials of the PKI Central Committee, together with members of the delegation, more than thirty people in all, attended the banquet. Today the Secretariat of the PKI Central Committee also announced that the PKI delegation headed by Aidit would, at the invitation of Fidel Castro, go to Cuba to take part in the commemoration of "26 July". The other members of the delegation visiting Cuba are Sutisman and Zain Nasution. Xinhua News Agency, Jakarta, 20th – Aidit, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Indonesian Communist Party, made a statement at the airport on the evening of the 19th before leaving for his visit to the Soviet Union and China. Speaking of the forthcoming talks between the PKI delegation and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of China, Aidit said that he knew the substance of the present differences. The imperialists and the Yugoslav revisionists were doing everything possible to sabotage the talks between the CPSU and the CPC. Aidit said: "Therefore, for these two Communist Parties there is no other wise policy, understandable to Communists and working people throughout the world, than to make their talks a success." Aidit said: "For me, holding talks with these two Communist Parties is in the interest not only of the international movement but also of the development of the New Emerging Forces. Every son of Indonesia who supports the policy of the New Emerging Forces in their struggle against the Old Established Forces certainly does not wish the dispute between the CPSU and the CPC to continue. I and the delegation I lead will work in accordance with the wishes of the Communists and working people of the whole world." Replying to questions from Western journalists, Aidit said: "I and the Indonesian Communist Party stand on the side of the Moscow Declaration, because the Declaration clearly states that all Communists must condemn and expose modern revisionism." On the question of President Sukarno's stated intention to reshuffle the cabinet, Aidit said he believed President Sukarno would not disappoint the people. Imperialism, Yugoslav revisionism and their lackeys had recently been active in trying to undermine President Sukarno's efforts to form a cabinet with Nasakom at its core. "I believe the Indonesian people will continue to reject interference in their internal affairs, whether it comes from imperialism or from revisionism." He said that he and the delegation he leads were setting out in good spirits. First, at home, the movement to smash the counter-revolution was rising ever higher, the revolutionary movement was developing day by day, and the people's level of political consciousness was extremely high. Second, the policy called for by President Sukarno of direct confrontation with neo-colonialist "Malaysia" was being welcomed ever more loudly. Aidit also spoke about Indonesia's economic problems, saying: "I believe that, relying on still stronger unity of the people, the deviating factors of '26 May' (referring to the date on which the economic regulations were promulgated) and the regulations that undermine the Economic Declaration can be defeated."
