Sukarno issued the call at the opening of a military conference. Referring to the tricks used by the United Nations mission headed by the American Michelmore [Laurence Michelmore], President Sukarno said that the Michelmore mission's investigation of the wishes of the people of North Kalimantan had violated democratic procedure. In many cases the people had been forced to express agreement to "Malaysia". President Sukarno also condemned Britain's attempt to prolong its colonial rule. Sukarno stressed that the neo-colonialist "Malaysia" plan must be thoroughly smashed.
