Five Chinese organisations issue a joint statement on behalf of the whole Chinese people, giving the most resolute support to the urgent appeal to save more than 300,000 Indonesian patriots Strong protest against the monstrous crimes of the Indonesian reactionaries backed by US imperialism; stern condemnation of the Soviet revisionists' treacherous betrayal of the Indonesian people's revolution Xinhua News Agency, 13th – The Chinese People's Committee for World Peace, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the All-China Women's Federation of the People's Republic of China, the All-China Youth Federation and the China Political Science and Law Association today issued, on behalf of people of all walks of life throughout the country, a joint statement strongly protesting against and sternly condemning the monstrous crime of the mass barbarous slaughter of Indonesian patriots and progressives by the Indonesian right-wing military regime, and giving the most resolute support to the just position of the recent urgent appeal issued by the Indonesian Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organisation to save the more than 300,000 Indonesian patriots who are suffering persecution. The statement said that the Indonesian right-wing military clique, backed by US imperialism, during more than a year of reactionary rule, by the most barbarous fascist means, carried out mass arrests and mass slaughter, turning Indonesia into a hell on earth of white terror. They cruelly killed hundreds of thousands of Indonesian patriots, progressives and innocent old people, women and children, and now more than 300,000 people are still imprisoned and may be thrown into the slaughterhouse at any time. This horrifying terror of the Indonesian reactionaries is unprecedented. Their barbarity and brutality fully expose the reactionary fascist face of the right-wing military regime headed by Suharto–Nasution, determined to be an enemy of the Indonesian people. The statement pointed out that the Indonesian right-wing military regime's anti-Communist, anti-people, anti-progressive, anti-national-liberation policy at home and its frenzied anti-Chinese, Chinese-exclusion policy abroad have been supported and appreciated by the Soviet revisionist leading clique. In the course of the Indonesian right wing's usurpation of power and slaughter of the people, the Soviet revisionist clique had continually shipped modern weapons into Indonesia for the right-wing military clique to use to slaughter Indonesian Communists and all patriotic democrats. The Soviet revisionist leading clique had also recently invited Malik [Adam Malik], Foreign Minister of the Indonesian right-wing military regime, to visit the Soviet Union, to carry on dirty political deals with this fascist executioner whose hands were stained with the people's blood. The Soviet revisionists' betrayal of the Indonesian people's revolution once again exposed their face as great traitors. The statement stressed that the executioners Suharto–Nasution and their ilk, like all reactionaries, would surely be thrown by the revolutionary people into the garbage heap of history. History proves that the more people the reactionaries kill, the greater the revolutionary forces become and the closer the reactionaries come to their doom. The great leader of the Chinese people, Chairman Mao, said that all the "persecutions the reactionaries of all countries carry out against the revolutionary people can in the final analysis only promote a broader and fiercer revolution of the people." [Quotation as given in the source.] However rampant and ferocious the Indonesian right-wing reactionary forces may be for a time, in reality they are but paper tigers, which will in the end be pierced and smashed by the Indonesian people and receive the ruthless judgment of history. The statement declared that the 700 million Chinese people, armed with the all-conquering Mao Zedong Thought, will for ever stand most firmly on the side of the Indonesian people and on the side of all revolutionary peoples. We believe that the Indonesian people will unite still further, break through all difficulties and defeat all attacks by the reactionary forces with resolute struggle. The future of the Indonesian people is bright, and their revolutionary cause will surely win final victory.
