Berita ANP singkat di Het Vrije Volk (23 Sep 1965, hlm. 9), seminggu sebelum percobaan kudeta: ribuan perempuan Indonesia berdemonstrasi di Kementerian Perdagangan Jakarta menentang kenaikan harga kebutuhan pokok, menurut koran PKI Harian Rakjat. Mereka menuntut tindakan keras terhadap kapitalis, birokrat, penipu dan pemalsu; menteri berjanji bertindak cepat. Penyelenggara tidak disebut.
