First woman to be tried over the 1965 coup: 'Gestapo' woman (Berita Harian, 1973)
Berita Harian, 9 May 1973, p. 3, Reuters: a court spokesman says Mrs Sumali, a Gerwani leader, will be the first woman tried over the 1965 coup, charged with torturing an army general with a razor blade; she was arrested with other Gerwani members at Lubang Buaya on 1 October 1965 after six generals' bodies were found. Repeats the razor-blade slander as fact. Also a West Kalimantan commander's warning.
Berita Harian, 9 Mei 1973, hlm. 3, Reuters: juru bicara pengadilan menyatakan Ibu Sumali, pemimpin Gerwani, akan menjadi perempuan pertama yang diadili atas kudeta 1965, didakwa menyiksa seorang jenderal dengan silet; ia ditangkap bersama anggota Gerwani lain di Lubang Buaya pada 1 Oktober 1965 setelah jenazah enam jenderal ditemukan. Mengulang fitnah silet sebagai fakta. Juga peringatan panglima Kalimantan Barat.
