Rebellion under the Banner of Islam: The Darul Islam in Indonesia
Rebellion under the Banner of Islam: The Darul Islam in Indonesia (van Dijk, 1981)
C. van Dijk, Rebellion under the Banner of Islam: The Darul Islam in Indonesia (KITLV/Martinus Nijhoff, 1981), a political history of the Darul Islam risings in West and Central Java, South Sulawesi, South Kalimantan and Aceh, and of why people joined them. It never mentions Gerwani. Its relevance is biographical: Mrs Salawati Daud appears in the South Sulawesi chapter (pp. 174, 178-179, 184, 196) as a member of the 1950 Committee of Good Services, who made peace missions to Kahar Muzakkar and Jakarta. The index lists her at those pages.
C. van Dijk, Rebellion under the Banner of Islam: The Darul Islam in Indonesia (KITLV/Martinus Nijhoff, 1981), sejarah politik pemberontakan Darul Islam di Jawa Barat dan Tengah, Sulawesi Selatan, Kalimantan Selatan dan Aceh, serta alasan orang bergabung.
“Mrs. Salawati Daud 'went to Jakarta a number of times to plead the guerillas' cause with the President and senior government officials' (p. 174).”
