Almost overlords yesterday, almost outlaws today: What happened to the PKI? (Dennis Bloodworth)
Almost overlords yesterday, almost outlaws today: what happened to the PKI? (Bloodworth, Straits Times, 1965)
The Straits Times, 8 December 1965, p. 12, analysis by Dennis Bloodworth on why the PKI failed. In passing it repeats the Lubang Buaya slander as fact: 'six leading generals were done to death, horribly mutilated by doe-eye girls of the PKI's Gerwani women's movement'. It then covers Sukarno's weakness, Nasution's escape, Chinese advice, past PKI risings (1926, Madiun 1948) and prospects of guerrilla resistance.
The Straits Times, 8 Desember 1965, hlm. 12, analisis Dennis Bloodworth tentang sebab kegagalan PKI. Sekilas ia mengulang fitnah Lubang Buaya sebagai fakta: 'enam jenderal tewas, dimutilasi mengerikan oleh gadis bermata rusa dari gerakan wanita Gerwani PKI'. Lalu membahas kelemahan Sukarno, lolosnya Nasution, nasihat Tiongkok, pemberontakan PKI terdahulu (1926, Madiun 1948), dan prospek perlawanan gerilya.
“p.2: 'Six leading generals were done to death, horribly mutilated by doe-eye girls of the Indonesian Communist Party's "Gerwani" women's movement, and their bodies pitched into a well.'”
