The Politico-Military Role of the Indonesian Armed Forces, October 1965-1968 (Fox, 1968)
Edward J. Fox, University of Chicago MA dissertation (1968; the catalogue title says PhD) on the Indonesian armed forces' control programme and the pattern of violence from October 1965 to early 1968. Gerwani appears only in passing: a footnote cites 1.75 million members and notes its self-dissolution (p.32), and one uncited anecdote claims Sarwo Edhie had defiant Gerwani women machine-gunned in a Central Java village (p.64). It also covers Lubang Buaya and TV propaganda.
Disertasi MA Edward J. Fox, Universitas Chicago (1968; judul katalog menyebut PhD) tentang program pengendalian angkatan bersenjata Indonesia dan pola kekerasan sejak Oktober 1965 hingga awal 1968. 64). Dibahas pula Lubang Buaya dan propaganda televisi.
“p.64: Sarwo Edhie's column was blocked in a pro-Gestapu village by 'a group of Communist women Gerwani, displaying bared posteriors'; he 'had them machine-gunned down in situ' (uncited).”
